Technology and advertising go hand in hand within todays electronic marketplace. Personally I feel like now more than ever if advertising firms don’t assert themselves for their companies in the digital world they are virtually dead and non existent to the common consumer.

In my life I have seen a massive uprising of ads in many digital platforms I go to. I feel this assertion for any company is vital to their success. I see the positives for these companies because they are constantly in the consumers face. The major downside of this is the annoyance of not being able to go on any social platform without being bombarded by ads upon ads.
The technology that excites me the most in the advertising world is the allowance of anyone to create a new website to brand themselves. I think that putting a site together to gain an online presence is important. I also think the social platform Instagram which is now allowing people to promote their own content is great for the business of Instagram and their consumers. The common person can now compete with other people who have large company backing or other outside funding. I am excited for the future of advertising because I feel that these tools are going to become more accessible and user friendly.

I became interested in Ad/PR because I was a going into my junior year as communications major with no focus on a study. I decide to take an Ad/PR route because I wanted to showcase my communications knowledge within advertising.

I feel the future of technology is moving towards a phone based advertisement. I feel with our generation no one watches TV anymore. Unless you go to your family’s house or see your parents watching TV. Our generation is only using fast moving platforms. We were raised different than other generations. We have a short attention span due to mass technology. In the world of advertising we have to work to understand the platform and consumer behavior. If advertising firms of today can target these concepts they can teach these new ideas within universities which can service a whole new generation of Ad/PR students.
In the world of advertising I see only one thing being the focus of the next ten to fifteen years which is consumer behavior. Although this concept has been around since the dawn of advertising I see it becoming something to bring to the forefront of our industry. In my post I have highlighted why I have this perspective.
I hope my thoughts on the advertising world are appreciated even though I am only student I feel I have a different perspective than older generations. I hope in my career I can utilize the skills I have to place my self in a position of using my ideas with the knowledge I am given to create a new fresh style that is appealing. I want to create an enjoyable advertising experience rather than the one that has been presented to us.
