My Rating

I plan to work on my online footprint throughout this semester. In about 90 days, I will revisit this score and see if the changes I’ve made to my online presence have improved my BrandYourself score. I did not think that I would receive a rating this high. During the review process of my online risk I found that my name was tied to other people who have the same name have committed crimes. This is what I believe results in my high rating from BrandYourself.com.

In allowing time for this brand yourself assignment to take its course I looked at their suggestion to remove my self from sites. I had my name linked to other people who have the same name as me. I know that I can not do much about that. I did remove myself from these sites for the sake of the assignment. I did get the same rating.

The impact of this assignment has taught me that your online profile is important. The “brand” you create for yourself is not only what you do but the content that surrounds you and is linked to you. I find that this is what I took away from this assignment. I know that within applying for a real job taking these linked online relationships into account is worth while because I know employers will use the same process to evaluate me.
